Cassens fine art presents: "Night Vision"
“Night Vision” is a solo exhibition by award-winning Montana artist Jake Gaedtke. This exhibition is an immersive body of work that reflects Gaedtke’s long-held fascination with the night, showING just how beautiful it truly is.
HAMILTON, Mont.— Cassens Fine Art presents “Night Vision,” a solo exhibition by Montana landscape artist Jake Gaedtke. The exhibition opens with an artist reception on Friday, July 11, from 5–7 p.m., and will remain on view throughout the month of July.
This new body of work centers on the nocturne, a genre Gaedtke has become well known for, earning awards and the admiration of collectors for his ability to capture the stillness and mood of the night with sensitivity.
“Jake has a real gift for nocturnes,” says Michelle Cassens, owner and curator of Cassens Fine Art. “Not every painter can hold the mood of a night scene without overworking it, but Jake does it with such confidence. I’ve wanted to show this side of his work for a long time, and I’m thrilled we get to bring it to the forefront.”
“Night Vision” reflects Gaedtke’s lifelong connection to the late hours. A self-described night owl, he’s spent countless evenings watching the land shift into shadow, painting outdoors under the light of a full moon. His work carries that sense of presence and patience, offering the viewer a look at the world most people sleep through.
Featured paintings include “Evening’s Blanket,” a personal reflection on dusk and ritual, inspired by nights in Gaedtke’s former Colorado studio. In “Under An Evening Sky,” he shows the clarity of a starlit landscape.
“These paintings offer something rare,” Cassens adds. “They hold space for the quiet. For the rhythm of the natural world at peace.”
Cassens Fine Art invites the community to experience Night Vision and to join us in welcoming Jake Gaedtke on Friday, July 11, from 5–7 p.m. at the Opening Reception.
